Taking its name from the Romanian word for 'noise', Zgomot celebrates the collision and confluence of art punk, free improvisation, Balkan folk, and Slavic rock 'n' roll. Primary songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Vlad Cuiujuclu puts the words of Russian futurists and Romanian poets to music that is both structured and free, allowing the band of veteran performers to roam the avant garde country side like sonic shepherds, featuring Pippin Barnett (drums), Gary Kalar (guitar), and Tim Harding (bass).
